Here are some tips on how to stay chic and stylish even when wearing glasses.
Whether it's prescription glasses or a trendy pair of shades, accessorizing can be a bit tough. Eyeglasses are too heavy and can draw all the attention to it, instead of your facial features. But of course, there's a way around that. Fret not, dear bespectacled fashionistas. Here are a few tips on how to wear jewelry with glasses.
Match the frame color of your glasses to your jewelry.
If you own a silver pair, try to wear fashion jewelry with the same tone. Metallic frames are usually versatile and can go well with any type of fashion jewelry. Plastic frames, on the other hand, maybe a bit tougher to match with, especially if it's not a neutral color. That said, it's always best to stick with blacks, browns, and metals when getting a new pair of prescription glasses.
Wear the right earrings.
If your frames are thick or oversized, it's better to go with stud earrings. If they are thin and metallic or rimless, go for the longer ones like the tassel earrings. Note that longer earrings create some sense of balance to the look. You can also go with Swarovski Elements statement earrings that you can also match with your silvertone fashion rings. Colorful plastic frames go well with the minimalist earrings as well.
Wear the right necklace.
You can wear bold statement necklaces if you plan on wearing stud earrings. As for the statement pairs like chandeliers and hoop earrings, go for a minimalist pendant necklace. Again, be careful with the colors. All these should match to avoid looking too busy.
Downsize other accessories.
With other accessories, we mean your hat, hair clips, or scarf. These tend to cover a part of your face so wearing one or two of these can look too heavy. Just focus on the jewelry pieces you wear near your eyes.
Wear the right makeup.
Stay away from wings and heavy eye makeup. Go for a simple dark eyeliner and light or natural eyeshadow. As for the lips, you can wear a bold bright shade to balance the heaviness of your glasses. And of course, don't forget your highlighter. Focus on the forehead, cheeks, eyes, brow bone, nose, cupid's bow, and chin.
